Termessos is one of the ancient cities of Turkey. It lies 30 kilometres to the north-west of Antalya.The ancient city was built on a step hillside clad with pine forest,which has helped it reach the present day intact and well-preserved.The first ruins visible are remnants of the city wall that can be seen on the road from Antalya to Korkuteli.The ruins extend to the summit of Gulluk Mountain.The principal structures are the agora,temples,theatre,cisterns,necropolis ,column lined street,bouleuterion and the gymnasium.
A visit to this site requires time and the stamina to walk uphill, because Termessos is built completely mountainous area difficult to access.

Apart from its attractive natural feautures,Karain Cave is also remarkable as one of the oldest human settlements in Anatolia.Archaeological excavations conducted in the cave have unearthed artefacts from Early ,Middle and Late Stone ages and Chalcolithic and Bronze ages as well as traces of later eras.Continuous human habitation has created an 11 metre-thick layer of cultures.Nevertheless the cave is principally known as one of the most important settlements of the early Stone Age and Mediterranean region. Some of the finds are on display in the little Karain Museum and others in the Pre-History Section of Antalya Museum.
